The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is a regional agency of the state of Florida, and is charged with managing and protecting water resources of the region by balancing and improving water quality, flood control, natural systems and water supply.

The Department of Environmental Protection protects, conserves and manages Florida's natural resources and enforces the State's environmental laws. In addition to managing Florida's award-winning state park system, the Department also conserves environmentally-sensitive land, restores waterways and preserves important cultural and historical resources through the 10-year, $3 billion Florida Forever program. Together with the South Florida Water Management District, the Department is implementing the 30-year, $8 billion state-federal partnership to restore America's Everglades.

The fundamental premise at the core of the state's education policy is unequivocal: every child can learn and no child should be left behind. Addressing accountability and improving student learning, raising standards and improving training for educators, reducing truancy and improving school safety can realize this policy.

The primary mission of the Department of Agriculture is to: safeguard the public and support Florida's agricultural economy by ensuring food safety and wholesomeness through inspection and testing programs; assist Florida's farmers and agricultural industries with production and promotion of agricultural products; and protecting the state's agricultural and natural resources by reducing wildfires, promoting environmentally safe agriculture practices and managing public lands.
